KING-GAGE® TeleSensor detects level by sensing
hydrostatic pressure created by liquid depth. Acting on the force
balance principle, a sensitive diaphragm is exposed to the liquid
contents of the tank. Compressed air within the sensor creates a
pneumatic pressure that balances the force of the liquid acting against
the diaphragm. This diaphragm unit is generally paired with the 868 D/P
Sensor Control with integral transmitter. This converts the pneumatic
isolation pressure to a proportional 4-20 mAdc signal suitable for
process control or remote level indication.
The basic configuration is intended for pipe flange
connection mounting (2", 3" or 4" class 150 ANSI) to any typical outlet
near the bottom of the tank. TeleSensor units are virtually free from
long term drift, hysteresis, and temperature sensitivity unlike strain
measurements (including load cells) since mechanical deflection of the
diaphragm is not directly measured. Additionally, pressure based
measurement is unaffected by liquid foam or vapor layers within the
tank.
KING-GAGE TeleSensor units combine accuracy, rugged
durability, reduced maintenance, and long term stability for liquid
level tank gauging. A compressed air/gas supply is required for
operation of the sensor. Entirely pneumatic versions are available for
use in hazardous area service eliminating need for additional intrinsic
safety provisions.

Purge Control
When purged with compressed air, liquid within a downpipe extending
into the tank is displaced by air pressure equal to the hydrostatic
force created by liquid depth. If carefully regulated at a low rate of
flow, air pressure will constantly maintain equilibrium against the
force of the liquid. Output is proportional to liquid depth and can be
transmitted as an electronic 4-20 mA signal or pneumatically as a direct
1:1 pressure signal.
788 D/P Purge Control is a differential pressure regulator and air
flow control. It generates a constant flow of compressed air to purge a
downpipe. Its integral differential pressure transmitter provides 4-20
mAdc output proportional to liquid level.
APPLICATION NOTE: Available in all-pneumatic configurations
for hazardous area service.

LiquiSeal Purge Control
When purged with compressed air, liquid within the downpipe is
displaced by air pressure equal to the hydrostatic force of liquid in
the tank. If carefully regulated at a low rate of flow, air pressure
will constantly maintain equilibrium against the force of the liquid.
Output is proportional to liquid depth and can be transmitted as an
electronic 4-20 mA signal or pneumatically as a direct 1:1 pressure
signal.
LiquiSeal D/P purge control is a fully integrated air purge
regulator and level transmitter. Operation is based on the control
regulating a continuous 1 cfh (cubic foot per hour) flow of compressed
air into the tank downpipe. An internal differential pressure sensor
element converts resulting pressure into a 4-20 mAdc two wire signal.
APPLICATION NOTE: Available in all-pneumatic configurations
for hazardous area service.

KING-GAGE® LevelWAV Guided Wave Radar
Level Transmitters provides continuous measurement of liquids and
solids. Measurement is independent of dielectric constant, temperature,
pressure and density variations. It is suitable to a broad range of
level measurement and control applications including process conditions
exhibiting visible vapors, foam, surface agitation, high temperature
and/or pressure.
Based on time domain reflectometry (TDR) this guided wave radar
propagates its pulses of microwave energy down a waveguide (probe)
extending into the tank contents. KING-GAGE LevelWAV works well in
confined space and in tanks having internal structures while providing
measured level accuracy to within ± 0.6 inch (±
15 mm).
Our guided radar can be used to measure the distance, level, volume
and ullage of liquids, pastes, slurries and powder products. Setup is
easier, simpler and more repeatable than "through air" non-contacting
radar as very little energy is lost down the probe which permits
measurement of very low dielectric media.
Suggested Applications:
Food/beverage
Chemical
Water/wastewater
Marine
Microwave pulses are guided down the probe and reflected back by
contact with the surface of the liquid. In time domain reflectometry (TDR),
the time duration of the pulse and reflected response corresponds to the
distance traveled. KING-GAGE LevelWAV measures level from the tank top,
enabling inventory monitoring and process measurements such as level or
ullage. Unlike other probe technologies, LevelWAV is not affected by
foaming of liquids or where the material tends to build up on surfaces.

KING-GAGE® ES2 Transmitters provide
liquid level measurement for inventory monitoring. Add to their rugged
reliability the major benefits of simplified service and maintenance.
Performance characteristics of these transmitters include excellent
stability and repeatability (better than 0.02% FS). Transmitter span
accommodates a 3:1 turndown ratio* to match the application pressure
range (i.e. tank depth) and the 4-20 mAdc output is compatible with PLCs
or other control architecture using analog I/O.
KING-GAGE ES2 transmitters are applicable to most tanks or process
vessels whose contents remain at normal atmospheric pressure. They
measure hydrostatic head pressure created by liquid depth in the tank
and are unaffected by foaming or internal obstructions such as
agitators. Unlike load cells, pressure based measurement has lower
installation cost and is far simpler to maintain thus ensuring more
reliable readings.
Transmitters used in sanitary processing must often endure cycles of
rapid temperature fluctuation. Washdown environments produce significant
condensation on metallic surfaces that coupled with aggressive cleansing
agents demand robust protection for these instruments. The ES2
transmitter's enhanced design uses encapsulation for full isolation of
the internal electronics. This extends to the IP68 grade M12 signal
connector that ensure integrity and long term reliability. You can be
assured of a transmitter truly built for the demands and expectations of
today's processing environment.
Sanitary Configurations
These sensors are especially suited to a wide range of sanitary
applications on storage or continuous processing vessels. The 316
stainless diaphragm is appropriate for flush mount, clean-in-place
installation employing an FDA-approved silicone rubber O-ring seal to
achieve the crevice-free, positive compression seal between diaphragm
and tank liner. Sanitary tank mountings include flush weld mountings
with product contact surfaces of 316L stainless. (Quick disconnect
sanitary adapters are also available for sensor mounting.)
*3:1 turndown ratio is applicable to 0-10 and 0-30 nominal range,
refer to specifications for detailed span adjustment available on
specific range models.

level by sensing pressure due to liquid depth while its pneumatic force
balance diaphragm technique is remarkably free from drift or temperature
effects. These sensors are especially suited to a wide range of sanitary
applications on storage or continuous processing vessels. The standard
AcraSensor + 868 D/P Sensor Control combination combines accuracy,
rugged durability, reduced maintenance, and long term stability for
liquid level tank gauging. Its integral transmitter converts the
pneumatic isolation pressure to a proportional 4-20 mAdc signal suitable
for process control or remote level indication.
The unique AcraSensor titanium diaphragm satisfies the 3-A Sanitary
Standard (74-03) and is appropriate for flush mount, clean-in-place

A complete integration solution, KING-GAGE®
LP3 system unifies data acquisition, HMI display terminals, and
networking flexibility for fluid processing operations. Addressing
multiple tanks requiring level measurement and inventory monitoring,
this system reduces I/O overhead at a PLC or other process control
device.
More importantly, by performing the scaling functions independently,
it frees up the PLC to focus on the batching and control functions (with
register values loaded directly from the LP3 interface). The benefits of
this approach include better data integrity and PLC performance
optimized toward more critical control functions. The LP3 integral data
acquisition function coupled with network connectivity, including
Ethernet, simplifies the sharing of tank inventory data across the
process floor or throughout a corporate enterprise.
Built-in digital communications capability for Ethernet, USB, RS485,
RS232C supports up to 4 high-speed serial ports linking PLCs, SCADA
systems, or Internet access (via an integrated web server). Network
protocols directly supported by LP3 include Allen-Bradley DF1 over
Ethernet and Modbus TCP/IP.

King-Gage LP2 SP Indicators provide continuous measurement of
liquid inventory in storage or processing tanks. Calculating level on
the basis of hydrostatic pressure created by liquid depth, the system
measures total product mass for more precise material accounting. A full
numeric keypad and function keys support various user selections,
including direct entry of control setpoints (high or low level) for each
tank. The two line alphanumeric LCD readout shows tank level, readout
unit (user selective), tank name. and specific gravity in the normal
display mode.
The King-Gage LP2 SP models add functionality of digital setpoints
for simple level monitoring and basic control solution for many
applications. These indicators support digital RS-485 communications to
a central control system while allowing limited local control to
production personnel. LP2 SP provides the user with two (2) fully
independent SPDT relays per tank input channel. The hardware
configuration includes normally-open (NO), normallyclosed (NC), and
common (C) relay contacts. Factory programming options include standard
LOW-HIGH (descending/ascending) or HIGH-HIGH (ascending/ascending)
setpoint actuation.

King-Gage LP2 Model 4640 Indicators provide continuous measurement
of liquid inventory in storage or processing tanks. The LP2 indicator
expresses output directly in engineering units. A factory programmed
capacity profile (Datapack iButton) correlates transmitter output to
actual tank geometry. The indicator then displays the resulting value
directly as total weight or volume of liquid in the tank.
The King-Gage LP2 indicator reads the proportional 4-20 mA signal
from a liquid level transmitter. The actual sensor used to detect
hydrostatic pressure created by liquid depth can be either electronic or
pneumatic (using an electronic pressure transmitter to convert the
sensor's pneumatic signal into 4-20 mA output). LP2 also supports
digital communications output via multiple RS485 serial ports using
Modbus RTU or generic ASCII character strings.
